What am I giving to?

rip.church exists to deliver the message that Jesus is the way, and Church is not. We seek to make the crooked paths straight again. Church is a crooked path.

Jesus must be the focus, not God, Father, Trinity, Yahweh, or any other god made from the imagination of man. Jesus must become greater, we must become less.

Church is the institution claiming to represent God but actually misrepresenting him, exploiting people for gain. Church is the unnecessary middleman in the supply chain of loving your neighbor.  

We are  offering the option to give donations as a bit of an experiment, wondering if there aren't some who resonate with this message and want to give as a sign of solidarity with it, and ultimately share the good news about Jesus unshackeled from Church. You can, and should be doing this in your own immediate networks. Your gift to rip.church should only be given freely according to your means, of your own accord as the Lord Jesus leads you. Any financial support is received and given away in the spirit of Acts 4:34-35:

“There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need.”

How is this different from Church? We have jobs. Zero dollars will go to chuch staff or building operating budgets or denominational membership fees.

Whatever financial support we receive will be given so that the good news about Jesus may go out into our town, county, state, country and around the world. Using the Bible illuminated by the Spirit of Jesus as a guide, we will seek to offer support outside of institutionalized religion, or Church, in the spirit of helping the poor, the cripple, lame, and blind, the widow, the orphan, the stranger, the hungry, the naked, and the prisoner.
